SLIGHT CHANGE OF PLANS

WILL YOU TRUST THE PROCESS EVEN IF IT DOESN’T QUITE MAKE SENSE?

Hey Fam,

Can you believe we are already in the month of September, so much closer to crossing into a new year? Perhaps when the year started, you had all types of plans—like buying a new home, starting a business, traveling, hitting the gym, getting a new car, throwing a party, launching a website, going back to school, spending more time with friends, taking a family vacation, buying land, trying something new, joining a club or organization, getting married, having kids, saving more money, growing your ministry, volunteering in the community, graduating from college, hosting family dinners, playing a sport, releasing new music, writing a book, living on campus, getting into your dream school, and so much more. Yes I know, such a looooong list! We often make all sorts of plans, and we have been taught to set goals and even plan ahead. However, how often do we talk about when things don’t go quite as planned? In all of our planning, have we even allowed room for a slight change of plans

A slight change of plans can range from being a minor modification to something that is completely new. Some changes can feel like our whole plan just got tossed to the side in exchange for something we had not planned. Sometimes those changes leave you feeling lost, stuck, confused, unmotivated, unheard, depleted or like maybe you made a mistake in making any type of plans in the first place.

There is a part of us that likes some sense of control, to the point that when there is a slight change, we may feel out of control. What if we shifted our thinking when it comes to shifts in our plans? When there is a slight change of plans, will you trust the process even if it doesn’t quite make sense?

What if a slight change of plans was for the following reasons:

DIVINE INTERRUPTION- At times, our plans are interrupted—whether through pauses, abrupt stops, or complete changes in direction. It can feel like we've lost signal, deviating away from our intended path. We might be heading one way, following our own plans, but in doing so, we could become disconnected from the true path God has for us. If you find yourself in a season where your plans have been disrupted, I encourage you to seek God. Take time to ensure you’re aligned with His purpose, path, and will for your life.

REALIGNMENT- Sometimes, when there’s a slight change in direction, it may be God fixing our heart’s posture, guiding our hearts and lives back to Him and His will. We can make all sorts of plans, but if they don't align with God's purpose or our hearts aren't in the right place, isn't it reassuring that God, in His grace, helps us realign?

NEW DOWNLOADS- It is in the secret place where you will begin to receive new downloads. It’s ok for us to pause, listen and stay in the presence of God until we receive instructions. The place where you have gotten stuck or frustrated in your plans is where God wants to breathe new life. He calls us up higher to show us what must take place after this. Revelation 4:1 Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” God’s plan far outweighs our plan for our lives. Let HIS voice be louder than the voice of your plans.

SAME PURPOSE, NEW ASSIGNMENT- A slight change of plans can catapult you into your new. That plan or old assignment that you are trying your best to hold on to, let it go and trust that God knows best. A slight change of plans may stretch your faith, but it will be worth it for a greater purpose. This last season required the old version of you, but this new season will require the new you.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. ~Proverbs 16:3

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. ~Proverbs 3:5-6

Talk to you soon,

Ky
